OS themed chassis
« on: August 30, 2016, 10:06:31 PM »
Born from LarsPPC idea.

OS themed chassis?
Ok i realize it might be a expensive idea but an idea what so ever.

- Debian
- MorphOS
- BSD

of course the teams responsible for the OSes would have to have a hand in this but how about it?

Depends, engraving a logo or a custom paintjob aren't that expensive. Modifying the chassis would be expensive.
If we ever make an Amiga edition laptop, I think we really do need a special edition paint job.

Why not, a good looking "geek-mod". Maybe changeable. Like the iMacs with different colors.
A GNU notebook with Richard Stallmans face on the back of the display cover :D

Amiga would also be cool. Maybe the same colors like the original Amiga beige :)
We have to pay attention on trademarks, then.

Exactly thats why the developer teams of the themed notebooks should be involved :)

If the laptop is fully FOSS compliant, we could present Richard Stallman with a laptop. Image if he uses it during his conferences and such, that's some serious rep for our laptop!

He was using a MIPS Loongson laptop, but now he uses a Thinkpad laptop with an older Core 2 Duo which doesn't contain Intel's proprietary microcode, but it's quite old.
