Is maybe a better solution to provide solution with just enough RAM, HDD and GPU. From my experience laptop I bought I never upgraded because price for upgrade was to much part of instead buying a new laptop. Maybe to go with more RAM, SDD and GPU. Price of slots is much more then price of soldering component to MB.

e.g. to go with minimum non upgradable 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD, and dedicated nVidia GeForce 940M 2GB.

Non upgradeable SSD? No.

About RAM and graphics I'm fine with a fixed solution.

Is it compatible in some ways with Open Firmware?

As long as I recall MorphOS ATM works only with Open Firmware platforms...

I hope U-Boot and Open Firmware could be quickly flashed into Flash-RAM Firmware Chips on the mainboard, so user could choose which one of the two loading  into the machine.

AmigaOS works already with U-Boot, so it has no problems of compatibility at all...

MorphOS will work with UBoot once SAM460ex port is done.

My suggestions for what a Power PC laptop released 2016 should have regarding wi-fi:

Bare minimum:
802.11n 2.4 GHz (including b/g)

Nice to have:
802.11n 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz (including a/b/g)

Very nice to have:
802.11ac (including a/b/g/n 2.4 + 5 GHz)

Morphos 3.8 is now available for Sam460.

1920x1080 or 1920x1200 is fine. Preferably not a high glossy screen.
