Is anyone working on Java? I'd like to be able to use SiteScope and other java applets with this project.

There is an open implementation of the Java platform standard edition that should work on PowerPC :

There is also some sort of IBM JDK.
It is probably ppc64le only in recent versions, though.

Doesn't the GNOME Web browser work perfectly on PowerPC? It has support for Firefox Sync and is based on Webkit.
