To iron out issues with booting, we are going to make a simpler desktop board!
Stay tuned!

Searching ppc64 bits machines / Power Mac G5

I am willing to send in a G5 Quad if I can eventually get it back. Also, please try 4GB sticks of DDR2 to see if you can run over 16GB RAM.

Introduction / Marc
Last post by ppcmarco - December 08, 2021, 01:22:24 AM
Hello everyone,

I am Marc, I am French and I live in Bristol, UK.
I am interested in this project for various reasons: community-based, promoting open hardware and software, knowledge sharing, and an opportunity to have some alternative technologies alive. Not a fan of big tech, monopolies and being cornered into areas I don't want to be in. Well done all for this initiative and for being able to move forward. It's great to see the progress.

Apart from contributing to funding campaigns, I don't have skills that would allow me to contribute to the current tasks of the project, like low-level software, firmware, drivers, compilers, QEMU etc.
I keep experimenting with ppc distros on my old ppc macs, G3, G4 and G5. I hope one day I'll buy a powerpc-notebook and help with testing :)
