As FreeBSD has had a PPC port like forever that it is actively maintained and has long-term support, I propose FreeBSD as one of the standard OS options.

I think this is the most logic way forward.

Wouldn't that be a burden? To certify, test, develop drivers and all for one more OS?
Shouldn't that be something to aim for PPC Notebook v2?

You are right. And that depends what the FreeBSD developer wants.
It's not our task.

In my opinion there are two interesting OSes. Linux and FreeBSD. Would great to have these OSes on our book.
But we have to focus on Debian.

If other developers are interested in running a OS on our notebook (e. g. FreeBSD, Amigaish OS) it's their mission.
We are a small group of volunteers. We can't focus on anything.

Why do we need to focus on Debian? Is this a choice already made?

I mean, I use and love Debian, but most documentation available on the internet is outdated, confusing or even wrong. And it won't get any better.

FreeBSD has it's handbook, with very, very few errors and all the docs maintained in one central place.

Despite the fact that I love Debian, I have to admit it is fast becoming an unwieldy instrument. And FreeBSD is getting better every day.

But we need the developers behind that idea. And first we need a notebook
